2018 Tournaments and Events

For those of you who are members, you had a peek at some of our tournament plans for 2018 last week in the newsletter. Now we have some more details for a couple of events.

2018 Season and Open Qualifiers

The 2018 Spring Tournament registration is open now! First round begins this weekend, May 5th, and the whole event will wrap up on May 13th. This might seem like a short event, but after the marathon which was the 2016 Open, we’ve decided that stricter timelines are necessary.

The top 2 finishers in this event will be automatically qualified into the 2018 USTA Open later this year. All other participants will have their final tournament score added to their season total. Season totals will determine who gets the last qualifying spots at the end of the season. Even if you’re unsure about beating the top players you still should join so you can start building that season score.

There will be another 2 tournaments in the coming months which will count towards this season.

GenCon Tournament and Events

We’re headed back to GenCon in Indianapolis yet again this year! Event tickets go on sale on Sunday, May 6th – and you can find all our events listed here. The usual GenCon Championship tournament will be taking place again, but we’re also having several casual events where people can hang out and get in some good games and discuss strategy. We may allow play for caps (winner gets loser’s capstones) if you bring extra capstones of your own.

Outside of our events, you’ll almost certainly be able to find Ben hanging around at the Cheapass Games booth. You can also find more Tak goodies from Worldbuilders and Wyrmwood Gaming who will also have booths again this year. We look forward to seeing you there!
